DryJoist is a structural deck drainage system, meaning the deck’s surface is supported by the same system that creates a dry space in the area below. Traditionally, joists are repeated structural members used to build a supporting frame, ultimately determining the design, strength, and material selection for the deck’s surface. DryJoist has the necessary utility of traditional deck joists yet provides the freedom to build a truly custom deck surface that is both waterproof and unmatched in structural strength.

8” DryJoist
The most common dryjoist, its profile is nearly identical to the DryJoist Double Receiver with the exception that it has both the ‘flange’ and ‘flange receiver’ design. This board is interchangeable or can be used in conjunction with the 4” DryJoist for surface board attachment at 8” / 16” or 24” on-center.
4” DryJoist
The 4” DryJoist is used to accommodate for a variety of spacing requirements including odd width spans such as 1’, 3’, etc.
Outer DryJoist
The Outer DryJoist has a 4” width and the unique design is ideal for flashing compatibility. The ‘flash receiver’ can accept both standard and pre-bent flashing for a ‘finished’ look at the edge of the deck.
Joint Cover
The angles of neighboring dryjoists are locked together with a Joint Cover, creating a waterproof support beam aka ‘Triangle Joint.’ The Joint Cover should never be pierced or compromised by fasteners – protecting the only possible route for water seepage and providing uninterrupted waterproof coverage for the entire length of the dryjoists.
Double Receiver DryJoist
The DryJoist Double Receiver’s profile is closely related to the 8” DryJoist with the exception that either side has a ‘flange receiver’ design. This provides a starting point in the middle of the frame (between the two perimeter joists) and allows the installation to progress from either side, each finishing with an Outer DryJoist. This profile can also be used to change the orientation of the fastener plane – providing flexibility to change the location where surface boards will be fastened to the dryjoists.
Anchor Clip
Anchor Clips can attach at any location within a dryjoist’s water channel. This provides a secure area for fasteners without compromising the waterproof design, especially helpful for deck railing installation. Used to install any type of top-mount rail posts, including DryJoist’s Railing System, a rail foot or pedestal mount can span and attach at either side of a structural support. Anchor Clips provide rail post installation at 4” on-center at any location on the deck’s surface and achieves a solid connection. #14 SS fasteners can be drilled through the deck’s surface boards and directly into the Anchor Clips; this eliminates penetration to the water channel, integrates railing into the frame’s structural design, and eases deck rail installation.
